Silyl Linker for the Attachment of Alcohols

Recently, details were published of fhe new silyl hnker 57 for fhe attachment of 

Direct loading of primary alcohol on polystyrene diethylsilane [62] To a solution 

Treatment with AcOH/THF/water (6 6 1) at 50 °C for 4 h released the alcohol from the support, and the latter could be filtered off. The filtrate was concentrated to obtain the alcohol in a yield of 99.3% (GC). 

Two new silyl linkers (61 and 62, Fig. 5) have been synthesized starting from Merrifield resin, 3-methyl-l,3-butanediol, and diphenyldichlorosilane or dimefhyl-dichlorosilane [64]. Linker 61 was used for the attachment of primary and secondary alcohols as well as for phenols, whereas tinker 62 was designed for the binding of tertiary alcohols.
