Silver toughened

Silver Nitrate, Toughened. Lunar caustic fused silver nitrate molded silver nitrate. Consists of about 97-911% silver nitrate, remainder is silver chloride to toughen it.

One important field of application for dispersion-reinforced glass matrix composites is as biomaterials for implants and in orthopaedics. Bioactive sihcate and phosphate glasses and glass-ceramics are toughened by incorporating biocompatible second phases, for example titanium, silver or stainless steel particles or chopped fibres [20,24,54,76,77]. 

Toughened Silver Nitrate B,P. Contains 95 parts of silver nitrate and 5 parts of potassium nitrate, fused together and poured into suitable moulds.
