Silver complexes nitrogen-donors

Three-coordinate silver(I) complexes with nitrogen donor ligands are of the form [AgXL2] (L = 3-ferrocenylpyridine, X = OTf L = 3- or 4-NCPy, 2-, 3-, or 4-NCC6H4NH2, X = N03). 

Thermodynamics of complex formation of silver with several ligands such amines,368 hindered pyridine bases,369 nitrogen donor solvents,370 and azoles371 have been carried out. SUver(n) forms stable complexes with a variety of nitrogen donor ligands such as pyridine, substituted bipyridine, phenanthrohne, or citrazinic acid. They are usually obtained by reaction of a silver(I) salt with peroxodisulfate in the presence of the ligand. ...

Complexes of N-donor ligands have been made by chemical (ozone or persulphate) or electrochemical oxidation, such as Agpy4S20g, Ag(bipy)2(S20g) and Ag(bipy)2(N03)2.H20. Solid Ag(bipy)2(S20g) has A efr = 1-82/tB gj = 2.032, g = 2.134 (in frozen solution, hyperfine structure from both silver and nitrogen are seen).
