Reaction of l,3-bis(dimethylvinylsiloxy)propane with [RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)3] (1 mol%) in toluene at 110 °C (24 h) gives a mixture of a cyclic product and linear siloxylene-alkylene-vinylene oligomer. The cyclic product 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-3-methylene-l,5-dioxa-2,4-disilacyclooctane was isolated from the reaction mixture with 49% yield.
