Silicone block copolymers

Derivatives of the nonionic block copolymers that are used as antifoams include chemistries containing silicones. These silicone-block copolymers are molecules that possess improved antifoam and defoamer durability and excellent stability under high alkalinity, high temperature boiler conditions. [Pg.552]

Thermal analysis (TGA) data of these siliconated block copolymers revealed that they are thermally more stable than the reference materials, poly(tetrahydrofuran block urethane) and poly(ethyleneglycol block urethane) copolymers. The thermal stability was found to depend on the silicone content, with stability increasing as the silicone content in the structure increases. [Pg.188]

Hydroxyl-containing silicon material with the hydroxyl groups attached directly to a silicon atom are combined together to react to form silanol-functionalised urethane prepolymers that can cure at ambient temperatures in the presence of moisture to form polysiloxane polyurethanes. For instance, physical blends of a polypropyleneoxide polyol intermediates and an organic-silicone block copolymer-based polyol intermediates have been prepared to improve elongation and reduced... [Pg.114]

In this study, ESCR of selected PC/ABS resins have been studied by (a) varying impact modifier type and (b) addition of tailored silicone block copolymers to the blend. [Pg.730]

Impact modified polycarbonate blends are susceptible to stress cracking with certain chemicals routinely used to disinfect molded housings. Bulk polymerized ABS based blends show better ESCR performance compared to those with emulsion polymerized ABS. The addition of silicone block copolymers to polycarbonate blends containing bulk... [Pg.731]
