Silicon compounds arylsilane

The results for arylsilanes are not fully understood, but the spectra may reflect partial tacticity in these polymers. Further work is needed studies of model compounds with known relative configuration would be particularly helpful. Silicon-29 NMR of polysilane copolymers also shows great promise, especially for distinguishing block-like from fully random copolymers. 

Many unsaturated organosilicon compounds undergo facile electrophilic substitution reactions. The arylsilanes also appear to be activated towards electrophilic substitution. Substitution normally takes place exclusively at the site of silicon atom. 

In dissociative ligand exchange, an equilibrium between four and five coordinate compounds is responsible for the rapid intermolecular fluorine exchange (without racemization at silicon) in compound 196 (p. 163) (321). A similar equilibrium between open and closed forms is also implicated in amino-arylsilanes 213 (p. 174) (133). 

Silicon has been determined in organosilicon compounds such as arylsilanes by X-ray fluorescence with a vacuum spectrograph37. 

Classical synthetic routes to arylsilanes consist of the reaction of aryl Grignard or aryllithium compounds with silicon electrophiles and many of these routes are presented in the various reviews. Recently, metal-catalyzed reactions of aryl halides with silanes have proven to be useful routes to functionalized arylsilanes.
