Silanting of Glass Slides

Detachment of tissue sections from glass slides during processing for immunohistol-ogy is not uncommon. Such detachment can be avoided by preparing silanted slides as follows (Miksys, 1999). 

Coat with 2% Aplex (3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane) (Sigma) in 100% acetone for 5 min. 

Store at room temperature up to 1 month or at -20°C for several months. Freshly coated slides are preferred.
