Silanic hydrogen determination

If the original siloxane contains trifunctional methyl species, it is necessary to analyse for silanic hydrogen to determine how much of the methyl silicon trifluoride is due to MeHSiO and how much to MeSiO... [Pg.223]

In this particular case, we extracted quantitative data directly from the spectra shown in Fig. 6 at the chosen analytical frequency of 3060 cm 1, the peak of the vinyl carbon-hydrogen stretch absorption. We measured the distance of each curve (in mm) from the log (1/R) value of the 0% vinyl silane spectrum from the peak values at the other concentrations and determined the linear LSF among the eight values. [Pg.293]

From these experiments, and using the equation above, it was possible to determine the ratios of rate constants, kH/kaii, and from these ratios it was possible to obtain values for kH since the value for kadd was known. As can be seen from a comparison of Tables 11 and 12, all of the silane, stannane and germane reducing agents exhibit substantial rate enhancements in their transfer of a hydrogen atom to the perfluoro-n-alkyl radical in comparison to similar transfer to a hydrocarbon radical [140-142]. [Pg.124]
