Si nanoparticle-decorated SiNWs

A variation of the core-shell NW structure is the decoration of silicon nanoparticles (SiNPs) onto the surface of the SiNWs to fill the empty space between adjacent NWs (Fig. 1.35). This can increase the mass loading of silicon from 0.3 mg/cm for the bare SiNWs to 1.5 mg/cm, which increases the areal capacities from about 0.6 mAh/ cm to 2 mAh/cm.  [Pg.51]

Commercial SiNPs with diameters of 50 nm were dispersed into an aqueous, binder-free ink with low viscosity, which allows the [Pg.53]
