Shrinkage forecast

An attempt to forecast the further shrinkage of integrated circuits has been made by Gleason (2000). He starts out with some up-to-date statistics during the past 25 years, the number of transistors per unit area of silicon has increased by a factor of 250, and the density of circuits is now such that 20,000 cells (each with a transistor and capacitor) would fit within the cross-section of a human hair. This kind of relentless shrinkage of circuits, following an exponential time law, is known as Moore s law (Moore was one of the early captains of this industry). The question is whether the operation of Moore s Law will continue for some years yet Gleason says that attempts to forecast an end to the validity of Moore s Law have failed dismally it has continued to hold well beyond expectations . The problems at... 

Until now, theoretical efforts to forecast linear shrinkage have been limited because of the number of existing variables. One way to solve this problem is to simplify the mathematical relationship, leading to an estimated but still acceptable assessment. This means, however, that the number of necessary processing changes will also be reduced [12]. 

IDEAS (SRDC, Milford, OH). This shrink and warp module provides volumetric and linear shrinkage data with some warpage forecasting. 

Although the 30 plants owned by 17 companies in Japan currently produce more than 50 million tormes of clinker. Fig. 8 shows that the domestic demand for cement was only 44.6 million tormes in 2012 due to the shrinkage in public construction projects, tangled approval procedures resulting from revised building standards, and the consequences of the various financial crises around the world precipitated by the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008. Future cement demand is forecast to further decrease.
