CIPROFLOXACIN SEVELAMER 1 plasma concentrations of ciprofloxacin 1 absorption Separate doses as much as possible... [Pg.531]

In a crossover study in 15 healthy subjects the AUC of ciprofloxacin was reduced by 39% and the relative oral bioavailability was reduced by 48% when a single 750-mg dose of ciprofloxacin was taken with sevelamer 2.8 g The reduction was variable. The mechanism of the interaction is unknown. Based on the results of this study, sevelamer should not be given at the same time as ciprofloxacin because the efQcacy of ciprofloxacin might be reduced in some patients. Further study is needed to establish whether or not the interaction could be avoided by separation of the doses. [Pg.342]
