Serotypes Pseudomonas aeruginosa

There have been numerous efforts to classify the various serotypes of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and a significant advance was made by Fisher (10) on the basis of challenge studies in mice. 

The heterohybridoma (human x human x mouse) 4-8KH15, used for scale-up, secretes human monoclonal IgM specific for Pseudomonas aeruginosa lipopolysac-charide of Habs serotype 4. The generation and characterization of human hybridomas is described by Lang et al (1989, 1990a). 

Other examples are some Pseudomonas aeruginosa O-specific polysaccharides containing amino and diamino derivatives of uronic acids. Thus, the polysaccharide (30) ofLanyi serotype 0 3a, 3d under the action of HF for 3 h at 20° underwent strictly selective cleavage - at the glycosidic linkages of A -acetylfucosamine, to give the trisaccharide 31 in practically quantitative yield.
