Separation of Pt Isotopes

A review of those chemical properties of Pt which might be useful for radiochemical separations and seven procedures proposed for the separation of Pt Isotopes from Irradiated materials are given by Leddicotte [143]. These procedures are mainly based on the extraction of Pt + from a HCl solution containing SnCl2 with ethyl acetate [14, 31, 66, 90, 118, 126, 143, 147], on cation or anion exchange [31, 92,117,126,131,143,151] and on the precipitation of (NH4)2PtClg [31, 132, 133, 143]. The extraction of other Pt complexes with organic com- [Pg.145]

A He jet system [6], mass separators [19, 21, 22, 50], and a velocity filter [7] were also used for the separation of short-lived Pt isotopes. [Pg.146]
