Black Sesame is the dried ripe seed of Sesamum indicum L. [Pg.181]

Chinese Provinces Henan, Shandong, Hubei, Anhui, Sichuan, Jiangxi, and Hebei [Pg.181]

Flattened- ovoid, about 3 mm long, and 2 mm wide. Externally black, smooth or reticulately wrinkled. A dotted brown raphe at the apex. Testa thin, cotyledons 2, white, oily. Odour, slight taste sweet, slightly oily aromatic. [Pg.181]
