Self swelling agents

PGSE-NMR provides direct information on the translational mobility of a liquid medium capable of swelling a given CFP. The self-diffusion coefficient of the swelling agent is found to be related to the nanoporosity of the matrix as determined from ISEC and to the rotational correlation time of a suitable paramagnetic probe (ESR) [22]. [Pg.202]

AMMONIO (DICROMATO DI) (Italian) (7789-09-5) Combustible solid. A strong oxidizer. Reacts violently with reducing agents, combustibles, bases, sodium nitrite. Decomposes at about 356°F/180°C, self-sustaining at about 1300°F/704°C heat causes material to expand dramatically with evolution of heat and nitrogen oxides swelling may cause closed container to burst explosively. Solution is acidic. Acids are incompatible with sulfuric acid, caustics, ammonia, aliphatic amines, alkanolamines, amides, organic anhydrides, isocyanates, vinyl acetate, alkylene oxides, epichlorohydrin. Attacks metals in the presence of moisture. [Pg.95]

An advanced nanopatteming approach of functional materials that do not independently self-assemble is to employ stmcture-directing agents, such as copolymers with hydrophilic and hydrophobic blocks [12]. The fact that precursors to functional materials or nanoparticles preferentially swell one of the copolymer blocks is used for co-self-assembly which is driven by the polymer s phase separation behavior. However, increasing the number of components also multiplies the complexity of the assembling system and thereby the control of stmcture formation. Hence, this nanopattering approach was only demonstrated for a few functional materials [13]. [Pg.5]
