With selenium, however, the selenophosphinate 4 first formed further decomposes to the bissilyl selenide and the selenophosphinic anhydride (equation 10)15a. 

Yet another example is provided by square planar Ni(II) thio-selenophosphinate, Ni(SeSPPh2)2 complex [4], as shown in Figure 19. 

Fe(K -dppe)(T] -C5Me5)(C=C)]P(Se)Ph2, with a goal to determine electronic parameters of the parent metallo-phosphines. DFT calculations performed by the authors have indicated that Vpse s can be applied for this purpose in spite of the existence of the low-lying excited states in selenophosphines.
