Selective dissolution electrochemical measurements

K. Tachibana and M.B. Ives, Selective Dissolution Measurements to Determine the Nature of Films on Nickel-Molybdenum Alloys, Passivity of Metals, The Electrochemical Society, 1978, p 878-897... [Pg.230]

Electrochemical measurements coupled with solution analysis were progressively backed up by analysis of the surface and in-depth profiling of the alloy composition in the dealloyed layer [198]. Current-voltage, current-time, and potential-time relationships, as a function of the alloy composition and of the degree of selective dissolution, are the techniques employed extensively. Contributions to the field using this kind of approach can be foimd in Ref 173, 196, 199. [Pg.152]

The electrochemical studies of the corrosion inhibition process of Al-Mg-Si alloy in seawater using three selected natural products as corrosion inhibitors show that the corrosion rate of the alloy significantly reduced upon the addition of studied inhibitors. PP measurement reveals that the studied inhibitors can be classified as mixed-type inhibitors without changing the anodic and cathodic reaction mechanisms. The inhibitors inhibit both anodic metal dissolution and also cathodic hydrogen evolution reactions. [Pg.393]

Porosity through thin dielectric films on metallic substrates may be measured by corrosion (liquid gas), selective chemical dissolution (electrographic printing - solution analysis), electrochemical decoration, anodic current measurement, gas bubble generation (electrolytic), liquid crystal (electric field) effects, and absorption (dyes - liquid or gaseous radioactive material). [Pg.415]
