HSPD - 6 Integration and Use of Screening information. Provides for the establishment of the Terrorist Threat Integration Center.

Each screening center has medicinal and synthetic chemistry expertise in order to optimize hits identified from HTS campaigns and develop them into chemical probes. Specific capabilities vary, however typical strategies employed include parallel synthesis, computational and informatics analysis, and analytical capabilities such as LC/MS techniques. The structures of novel compounds that are prepared, their synthetic protocols, analytical data and biological data are all available, and samples of final probes developed are deposited into the MLSMR. A Working Group comprised of chemists from each center meets regularly to share information, best practices, and insure optimal use of resources. 

The fast growing amount of molecular information related to small molecule interactions with biological systems, generated in both academic and industrial screening centers, requires the design of molecular information systems which integrate bio- and chemoinformatics...

The patient consultation center of the prescription department provides an area for patients and the pharmacist to discuss medications and related patient questions. The consultation center may be as small as an 18-inch window built into the prescription counter or as large as a freestanding patient care center. Patient care centers provide pharmacy staff with a place to offer counseling and medical information and provide screenings for various disease states, therapeutic drug monitoring, and immunizations.
