Sampling dusty material

This can be used for sampling dusty material. Sampling is only carried out on the return stroke (Fig. 5). The trough must not overfill. ... [Pg.2964]

Enclosures Enclose room or equipment and place under negative pressure. Enclose hazardous operations such as sample points. Seal rooms, sewers, ventilation, and the like. Use analyzers and instruments to observe inside equipment. Shield high-temperature surfaces. Pneumatically convey dusty material. [Pg.95]

These are available from many manufacturers and can be divided into several groups micro-dividers for small samples and larger versions for greater quantities closed dividers for dusty and cohesive material (Figure 1.27) and open dividers for granular free-flowing material. [Pg.30]

It stands to reason, that all the records, data, specimens, samples and documents which are produced and compiled in the context of GLP studies, and of GLP test facilities, including documents and records of the Quality Assurance have to be stored somewhere for possible future examination. In order to allow for a later reconstruction of studies from this documentation, this storage cannot consist of simply creating a pile of all study-related and test facility-related material in a dusty attic or a dank cellar. The first consideration in archiving is that all this material should be stored under the proper conditions suitable to protect the contents of the archive from untimely deterioration . This technical aspect of the archive facilities proper has already been dealt with in section 5.4 (see page 180) and need not be taken up again... [Pg.278]

In the test, the drum is loaded with a 100 g sample and rotated at 30 rpm for one minute. The sampling rate is 28.3 litres/minute and the sampling time once again depends on the dustiness of the material, bearing in mind that the impactor must not be overloaded. This apparatus also measures only the respirable fraction of the dust less than about 9 microns and is capable of determining the dust emission curves or just an overall emission rate of dust finer (or coarser) than 9 micron. [Pg.125]
