Sample handling for IR process analyzers

One of the most important factors in the selection of the sample-handling technique is to attempt to analyze the sample, as it exists, without any form of chemical or physical modification. For gases and certain liquids, simple transmission cells, often with a flowthrough configuration meet these requirements. [Pg.122]

Material Useful range, cm 1 (transmission) Refractive index at 1000 cm-1 Water solubility (g/IOOml, H20) [Pg.122]

Notes Materials such as cubic zirconia, diamond, and sapphire may be used for transmission windows for special applications. [Pg.123]

Material Useful range (cm ) (transmission ) Refractive index at 1 000 cm Water solubility (g/lOOmI, H2O) [Pg.186]

Mhe usable range is normally less than the transmission range because of the higher optical attenuation that results from the extended optical [Pg.186]
