Salicylaldehyde crystal structure

In contrast with the Schiff base salen, salicylaldehyde oxime (79) (salox) complexes of Co have received comparatively little attention, but a series of bis-bidentate divalent complexes of the form iraiis-Co(sa 1 ox)2( D M SO)2 have been reported.343 The heterocyclic bidentate oxime violurate (lH,3H-pyrimidine-2,4,5,6-tetrone 5-oximate, Hvi) (80) and its /V-methyl (mvi) and /V,/V -dimethyl (dmvi) derivatives form high-spin divalent [Co(vi)]+ and Co(vi)2 complexes, whereas [Co(vi)3] is low spin.344 The mixed-ligand Co(dmvi)2(phen) complex is also low spin. The crystal structure of m-Co(pxo)2Br2 (pxo = 2-acetylpyridine-l-oxide oxime) is isostructural with the Ni11 relative.345 The dichloro complex also adopts a cis configuration. The tridentate dioximes 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol dioxime and 2,6-diacetyl-4-methylphenol dioxime (Hdampo) form binuclear complexes of the type (81a) and (81b) respectively.346 Cobalt oxide nanoparticles were prepared by... [Pg.36]

The Fe(III) complexes of R-substituted salicylaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (R-thsa2- Fig. 6) are among the most studied spin crossover materials of this family. The crystal structures of several of them have been determined at various temperatures. The iron-donor atom distances are compiled in Table 2. The Fe(III) ion is in a distorted FeS2N202 octahedron formed by two thiosemicarbazone ligands, which are geometrically arranged in such a way that the S and O atoms are located in cis positions, whereas the N atoms occupy trans positions, i.e. each tridentate molecule coordinates in an equatorial plane [101]. [Pg.291]

The crystal structure of a dimethylgallium salicylaldehyde complex shows it to be dimeric. There is a central Ga202 ring the Ga atoms are five-coordinate with distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry.579... [Pg.136]

The crystal structure of bis(salicylaldehyde)ethylenedi-iminecobalt(ii) contains discrete dimers (9). Each cobalt atom is surrounded by a cis planar arrangement of two oxygen and two nitrogen atoms, the Co-0 and Co-N distances being 1.920(4) and 1.897(5) A, respectively. Square-pyramidal... [Pg.533]

An interesting family of dendrimers are those forming liquid-crystal structures. Liquid crystals of copper(II)-containing PPI dendrimers were studied using ESR. 4-(4-iV-ALkoxybenzoyloxy)salicylaldehydes attached at the peripheral amino groups... [Pg.298]
