Said Edward

But it is not always easy to get a conviction when the evidence is gathered as it was in their case, said Edward. [Pg.160]

We performed our own alchemy, did we not said Edward. More golden angels were made than nobles had been melted down. ... [Pg.266]

Go to bed, William, said Edward, coming forward to raise me but dropping my hand as soon as I stood. Boy, escort my lady Maltravers to her chamber. ... [Pg.277]

This quotation introduces the much disputed issue of who should take responsibility for differentiation. There was evidence of contradictory views, particularly at Meadow Hill Comprehensive, where some teachers would have Uked to take on more responsibility themselves. One said, Edward [LSA] has brought in a few tools, and little drills, but in an ideal world I d like to make him [Mike] a whole set of tools myself. Others - more likely to be subject specialists in secondary school - felt the responsibility was clearly that of the learning support staff as far as adapting the format of materials was concerned. In one class, a teacher had avoided the discussion of genetic disorders in science - notionally to protect the project student, but perhaps to avoid careful thought about differentiation and teaching... [Pg.161]

That year we lay for a night at Harborough, for Sir Edward Grey s man that rode home with us from Groby said that with the snow threatening as it was, it would be folly to press on further... [Pg.14]

And what of Sir Edward and Master Grey said Mai, in the over-calm voice that seeks to dispel an argument. It is said they come to Grafton for Twelfth Night, and we know what that means. ... [Pg.17]

She lowered herself into her chair and waved that I should sit too, but kept her eyes fixed on the fire. At last, she said, You know with what purpose Sir Edward and Master Grey will come to Grafton ... [Pg.23]

It would be wise, I think. He stopped with his hand on the latch. It was said York had his son with him, Edward, Earl of March. Not much more than ten summers, he must be, but well-blooded now. He went out and closed the door behind him. [Pg.81]

Who knows Antony smiled a little thinly, but not, I thought, at the insult to Henry of Lancaster. It is said that Edward has got children of his own already. What I have seen at York... It would not surprise me. He shrugged, as if to rid himself of the odor of Edward s camp, the disgust that still lingered in his nostrils. [Pg.111]

If Edward had much to avenge, then the fight at Towton was a vengeance I had not thought it possible any mortal could wreak. It was the only time, they said, that Edward gave no order to spare the commons, and forbade his men to take any prisoners for an honorable, profitable ransom. All the enemies of the House of York were to be killed. [Pg.117]

Edward of York has a name for quick work, said one of the knights—Sir Nicholas Latimer, I think it was, rest his soul. He tossed another branch onto the fire. Did you not hear tell, my lord, how he marched the best part of six leagues in one night and won at Mortimer s Cross on the morrow ... [Pg.118]

They called mefroward that I would not heed the Council. They called me a sorceress, and that woman of Edward s too, Mistress Shore, at which I would have laughed if by the same man I had not heard that my lord Hastings was arrested in the Council chamber and killed within the hour. They said that Prince Richard, Duke of York—my... [Pg.318]

Your brother Master Edward was just the same, said Mai, loosening her wrappings and casting her cloak on the window-seat. A pity she ll not be Admiral of the Fleet like her uncle, for I warrant she d do well... She sat down beside me. And how keep you, madam ... [Pg.371]

ARTHUR EDWARD WAITE Lives of Alchemystical Philosophers ( %%%), pp. 30, 31. As says another writer of the mystical school of thought "If we look upon the subject [of Alchymy] from the point which affords the widest view, it may be said that Alchymy has... [Pg.20]

The committee recommended a comparison of subtherapeutic with therapeutic use of antibiotics on the prevalence of resistant transfer factors in meat animals. Also recommended was a study comparing the enteric flora of vegetarians and meat-eaters. A third study would involve workers in abattoirs and their contacts. These studies are in progress under the direction of Dr. Edward Kass at Harvard University and investigators at the Loma Linda Medical School. The committee also recommended further research on the mechanisms of the antibiotic growth effect. The report (7) said there is little indication that sale of antibiotics, including penicillin and tetracyclines, for feed and veterinary use, "has decreased as a result of the Swann Report."... [Pg.120]
