Rubber in Seawater Systems

Use Tire fabric, seat belts, reinforcement of rubber hose for seawater cooling systems, as blend in clothing fabrics, fire-hose jackets. [Pg.1009]

The plexiglass box for in situ experiments is open at the bottom and forms a closed system when pushed into the sediment. Sampling of the enclosed water is done with syringes through self-sealing rubber membranes. The boxes are equipped with electrodes for the measurement of pH, Eh, and temperature. The water loss from sampling is compensated for by a simultaneous addition of seawater and is considered in the final calculations (Hallberg etal., 1972). [Pg.169]
