Shakespeare s relationship with the land is one with clear ethical implications. One might argue that the process of cultural and economic commoditisation reached its zenith with the various souvenir Shakespeare T-shirts, fridge magnets, etc. available in the gift shop of the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford and beyond.
