Mod 15 (Fusil Mitrailleur CSR6), fired round-nosed bullets and had magazine capacity of 15 rounds. [Pg.32]

The first MG used by the Belg Army was the Maxim 08, cal 7.65mm, water-cooled. This gun was used from before WWI until WWII. During WWI the Belgians also used some Colt MG, Mod 1895, cal 7.65mm, firing round-nosed bullets. [Pg.32]

One item of special interest is the "Whisperload" cartridge. A standard 9mm or. 380 case is loaded with a 130 grain round nose bullet, probably the same one used in the commercial, 38 super auto round. [Pg.55]

As a precursor to this discussion, the definition of certain terms used becomes obligatory Ballistic Shape. For small arms ammo, three general bullet shapes apply. Bullets with round noses (which, except for pistol or sub-machine gun ammo, are virtually obsolete), bullets with pointed noses and flat bases, and bullets with painted noses and streamlined or boat-tailed... [Pg.385]

I>)Bullets, Cylindrical, Lead. Lead alloy bullets, rylindrical in shape with a rounded nose and lat base, are currently used in cal. 22 rifle ammo ind in many revolver cartridges. In order to educe "leading of the barrel, the bullets are enerally lubricated with a grease or other ubricating substance which is placed in two or lore cannelures or grooves cut around the bullet, he "outside-lubricated bullets, such as cal... [Pg.327]

Arcane bullet A cone-shaped flat base bullet made from solid copper alloy (the. 380 caliber is round nosed). [Pg.72]

The vast majority of the total particle population was due to lead only particles originating from the bullet in the case of the RNL (round nosed lead) ammunition whereas the JHP (jacketed hollow point) ammunition produced a much smaller proportion of lead only particles because the base and side of the bullet are enclosed in the jacket, with the only exposed lead at the nose of the bullet.175 This partly explains the much larger particle population experienced with unjacketed bullets. [Pg.129]

The BATF has also ruled that since this type of bullet has a steel ball in its nose, it is considered an armor-piercing handgun round and hence, illegal. It is unlikely that this bullet is capable of piercing body armor. [Pg.49]

It should be noted that loose BkPdr charges were used until about the middle of the 16th century. Then the BkPdr was placed in a paper bag, as shown in Fig A, while the bullet remained to be loaded separately. The next step (ca 1590) was incorporation in the paper bag (cartridge) a wad or plug and a round bullet as shown in Fig C. Still later the bullet was elongated and pointed at the nose as shown on Fig B... [Pg.754]

Another round of ammunition developed specifically for law enforcement use is the BAT (Blitz-Action-Trauma) ammunition. It is designed for high stopping power and for the projectile to have a short range of travel. The bullet is unjacketed and is made from solid copper alloy with a differing diameter hole all the way through the bullet from nose to base. This is illustrated in Figure 11.10. [Pg.83]

An excellent Velex type special purpose round can be made by drilling a 7/32 Inch or number 2 drill bit hole in the nose of a. 30 cal. or larger bullet. Pull the bullet from a 22 rimflre cartridge. Press the 22 case, powder and all, into the nose of the bullet until the rim of the case touches the bullet. [Pg.83]
