The final two steps (Phases three and four) of this research program involve the design (Phase three) and conduct (Phase four) of a proof-of-concept pilot study on road user errors and latent conditions at intersections in Victoria. It is proposed that the data collected during the pilot study will be used to develop an initial database of road user error and contributing conditions at intersections. The database will contain information related to each of the different error types and contributing conditions identified. The database will be used to identify trends within the error data and also to inform the development of error tolerance strategies and error countermeasmes.
