Municipalities are also allowed to reduce or withdraw the social assistance benefit in case of non-compliance with the rales of being available to the labour market and if clients refuse to participate in work related programmes. But there are no legal directions in when to sanction, how much, or for how long, and the practices are considerably different at the local level.
