Retirement slowing down

Retirement consists of distinct phases. Following a transition, there are periods of active living, slowing down, and assisted living. Each should be anticipated and enjoyed. [Pg.16]

We meet maybe twice a year at various meetings and I try to visit his lab whenever I make it to Switzerland. It s really sad that the Swiss academic system forces him to retire, very prematurely I d say. He s been doing fantastic novel experiments for well over 30 years now and there are no signs of him slowing down. Injections of a yucca/alpine sunflower extract, as developed by now-retired University of Wyoming chemistry professor Owen Asplund, have bear reported to be used successfully in Switzerland against melanoma, and presumably may act as an enzyme inhibitor.
