The results of interest for determining the efficiency of the functional barrier on the transfer of contaminant include the following  

These are calculated through the two films which are maintained firmly in contact, so that there is no matter resistance at their interface. 

Equation (2.4) is used for this calculation, and the curves are drawn with the same dimensionless coordinates, for the concentration at abscissa x, and D t/L for the time.
