Results for Cooled Reactor System

For both the expensive and inexpensive catalysts, the cooled reactor system has the lowest total annual cost among all the alternative systems. This occurs for two reasons  

This system requires less catalyst (smaller reactor) because it operates at a higher average temperature, which results from having a higher inlet temperature. However, the capital cost of the cooled reactor is higher per unit of volume than for the simple adiabatic reactor vessels.
