The die swell behind a simple flow channel geometry can be computed in good agreement with the die swell in reality. An introduction of a discrete relaxation time spectrum leads to a better description of the material behavior, which enables better calculation results. Nevertheless, in some cases good results can be achieved with less than five relaxation times. More relaxation times call for more calculation resources and will result in longer simulation time. This matter will have even more effect on more complex flow channels, which have to be modelled in a three-dimensional calculation domain.
