Reproductive Integrity Stamen-Hair Stunting

Loss of Reproductive Integrity (Stamen-Hair Stunting) [Pg.195]

For the determination of hair stunting, the number of cells per hair is required. Hair stunting can occur in all hairs throughout the stamen. However, the cell number per hair in the upper one-third of the hairbearing region is somewhat less than in the lower two-thirds, so it is more convenient to use only hairs from the upper region. In fact, because the cell number per hair decreases slightly from base to apex of the filament. [Pg.195]

Data for hair stunting from treatments other than ionizing radiation are not yet available. [Pg.196]
