Repeated tests proportions

Most controllers are calibrated in minutes (or minutes/repeat, a term that comes from the test of putting into the controller a fixed error and seeing how long it takes the integral action to ramp up the controller output to produce the same change that a proportional controller would make when its gain is 1 the integral repeats the action of the proportional controller). [Pg.225]

Dichloroacetonitrile was tested in a limited carcinogenicity study in female SEN mice by skin application, in an initiation/promotion study in female SEN mice by skin application and in a screening assay for lung tumours in female strain A mice by oral administration. No skin tumour was produced after skin application in mice or in the initiation/promotion study, in which dichloroacetonitrile was applied topically as six equal doses over a two-week period, followed by repeated doses of 12-0-tetradecanoyl-phorbol 13-acetate for 20 weeks. There was no increase in either the proportion of mice with lung tumours or the number of lung tumours per mouse (lARC, 1991). [Pg.1376]

Procedure. 10 c.c. of the spirits, brought to 50% strength, are placed in one test-tube and 10 c.c. of the standard solution in another, 4 c.c. of Schiff s reagent being added in each case and the tubes then dosed, shaken and left for 20 minutes. If the two liquids then have about equally intense colorations, they are compared in the colorimeter. Otherwise the test is repeated, a less quantity being taken of the alcohol giving the deeper coloration and this made up to 10 c.c. with pure 50% alcohol this is necessary because the intensities of the coloration are not proportional to the aldehyde-content, except when the differences are small. When sensibly similar colorations are obtained, the liquids are compared in the Duboscq colorimeter. [Pg.245]

For this purpose a standard solution containing 0-005 gram of furfural per litre of pure 50% alcohol is prepared, the spint to be tested being also brought to 50% concentration. 10 c c of each of the two liquids are treated at the same time with 10 drops of aniline and 1 c c of concentrated acetic acid. If, after 20 minutes, the colorations are approximately similar, they are compared in the Duboscq colorimeter, if, however, the two colorations differ greatly, the test is repeated m the manner described for the determination of the aldehydes (tee above). The proportion of furfuraldehyde present is readily calculated from the colorimeter readmgs... [Pg.246]

Finally, a cognitive performance assay used repeatedly during sleep deprivation should have high test-retest reliability it should be demonstrated to be sensitive to a large proportion of the performance phenomena associated with sleep loss and it should have the capacity to reflect aspects of real world performance (i.e., ecological validity). [Pg.43]
