Diamino-3-phenylthioacrylonitrile (224) gave 3,6-diamino-2,5-pyrazinedi-carbonitrile (225) by oxidative coupling.1629 Also related self-condensations.518... [Pg.31]

Choreoathetoid movements have been evaluated in samples of cocaine-dependent men (n = 71), amphetamine-dependent men (n = 9), and 56 controls (137). The cocaine-dependent men had significantly worse non-facial (limbs plus body) choreoathetosis scores, and the differences between groups were most marked in the younger age groups. The facial scores were increased only in those under 32 years of age, as they were in the younger amphetamine-dependent subjects. The authors suggested that the absence of choreoathetoid movements in the older cocaine-dependent men may represent an age-related self-selection effect. [Pg.501]

In an extension of this study, the analogous complexes with R = H (42) and 9-anthryl (44) were prepared. The crystal structure of derivative 44 has been determined. Once again, the generation of an ordered, rack-type structure is revealed with steric interactions between the anthryl moieties and the ancillary terpyridyl ligands in evidence. A related self-assembly procedure employing the corresponding tris-tridentate derivative led to 46 being obtained in 58% yield. [Pg.210]

The influence of temperature on diffusion coefficients of solutes in liquids has been studied in less detail. Diffusion coefficients often can be estimated from viscosity measurements. Hydrodynamic theory relates self-diffusion coefficients to the viscosity by... [Pg.477]

This relation self-consistent, as it reduces to an identity when we set c,- = cf. Moreover, the reference value for the chemical potential now involves only the properties of pure i, as specified by Eq. (2.5.10b). [Pg.135]

The MCR is derived by first assuming that Equation 1.23 holds. This means that the reorganization energy for the cross-reaction, X12, is equal to the mean of the reorganization energies, Xu and X22, associated with the two related self-exchange reactions. [Pg.11]

The self-ignition temperature of gaseous mixtures is not a clear-cut limit. It is best represented by an induction period versus temperature relation. Self-ignition will be observed at lower temperature if a longer induction period is allowed. [Pg.436]

Sutin [41] has shown that for outer sphere reactions that satisfy the assumptions implicit in Eq. (10.4), a good approximation for the cross-reaction Hab can be obtained from the geometric mean of the Hah values of the two related self-exchange reactions (Eq. (10.9)) ... [Pg.327]
