Place silica gel thin layer chromatogram plates on the shelves and run the normal process cycle. The TLCs are analyzed on their content of pump oil and refrigerant oil. 

Combining refrigeration with oil absorption allowed for additional liquid recoveries and greater economy of operation. Using temperatures as low as -40°F (-40°C), refrigerated oil absorption plants were capable of recovering 70 percent or more of the propane present in the natural gas stream. Recoveries of the butane and heavier constituents were essentially 100 percent. 

There are limited data to assess the carcinogenic potential of ammonia. Nasal cancer was reported in an individual accidentally exposed to a refrigeration-oil mixture (Shimkin et al. 1954). Animal carcinogenicity data consist of several oral exposure studies. Ammonia was not found to increase the occurrence of tumors following oral exposure to relatively low doses (Toth 1972 Uzvolgyi and Bojan...
