The faceted compound eye of the honey bee is sensitive to ultraviolet radiation. Conversely, it is blind to red hght. White flowers, which only partially reflect ultraviolet as a rule, appear colored to a bee. Certain color combinations, while invisible to the human eye, are not only visible but are also very attractive to bees. Some flowers that appear entirely yellow to the human eye reflect ultraviolet from the outer ends of the petals [3]. Only the inner part, then, appears yellow to the bee, directing it to the nectar source. The eye of the honey bee only roughly perceives geometric shapes [3]. 

To date, most analytical techniques reveal the presence of a class of oxidant residuals but are not sensitive to delineate such specific constituents as Cl2, CIO", CIO3-, CI3, NH2CI, NHCI2, NCI3, NH3, and amines. Future techniques may necessitate the use of reflectance ultraviolet and infrared applied to liquid and frozen samples as well as GC/MS as applied to gas...

The substitution of Ce in Ce02 by Hf results in the formation of ceria-hafnia solid solutions, whose properties in soot oxidation were investigated by Reddy et The order of soot oxidation activity (Ce-Hf > Ce-Zr) was correlated to the number of oxygen vacancy defects as evidenced by Raman studies.
