The Mighty Atom (1959), which also appeared as a popular cartoon under the same name, helped popularize the figure of "Reddy Kilowatt." Kilowatt came complete with an upbeat message, a full-fledged "Fusion song," and assorted doggerel ... 

No comic book artist has ever attempted to portray the advances in nuclear medicine. No cartoon figure named "Iggy the Isotope" emerged to rival "Reddy Kilowatt." Except for brief mention in "Andy s Atomic Adventures," and The Atomic Revolution, the major comic books completely ignored the theme. Somehow, the story of nuclear medlcme could never be imlversalized.
