Aromatic Carroll Rearrangements

Recently, the Carroll rearrangement has also been shown to be an effective means of installing carbon-carbon bonds on a variety of aromatic compounds. Sorgi and coworkers were successful in applying the Carroll rearrangement to a number of p-quinols to afford substituted arylacetone derivatives (Scheme 8.28) [27].
