Reactions with Sulfur and Selenium Compounds

An NF3-SO2 (1 1) mixture reacts at 455°C in a nickel tube to give SOFg (60% yield) as well as NO and NOg according to the equations 

on heating to 440°C in a nickel autoclave, a 1 1 mixture produces mainly SO2F2, SFg, and NO2 while a 2 1 mixture yields SFg and NO2 under the same conditions [1]  

2NF3-h3S02 3S02F2 + N2 2NF3-hS02 SF6 + N02 + V2N2 

At higher pressures a 1 1 mixture gives SO2F2 and SFg, whereas SFg is exclusively formed with excess NF3 [1].
