Most of the fast-reaction techniques can measure half-times down to 10 s, several of them to 10 s or below, and a few to 10 s or below. The range of first-order rate constants amenable to these techniques is thus from about 1 s to well above 10 s , so the accessible range has been extended by over ten powers of ten (see Figure 1.1). ...
