Radiolabelled theory

When TEAS is applied unilaterally on one Emb, the concentration of salicylates has been found to be identical in the corresponding tissues of the contralateral Emb. This supports the theory of action by redistribuEon through the blood. The use of radiolabeled TEAS also shows renal and fecal elimination. Phonophoresis helps saEcylates penetrate further into the skin. 

An alternative to microarrays, especially in the area of (cyclic) peptides, are one-bead-one-compound (OBOC) libraries. The technology for solid-phase peptide synthesis is well developed. Split-mix synthesis can be assisted by, for example, sorting equipment using radiolabels. All beads can then be screened at once, at least in theory, and active compounds can be detected by, for example, fluorescence [167]. There are three major challenges [168] ...

Since tirucallol (or euphol) has yet to be isolated from any part of the neem tree, support of this theory was obtained by the in vivo conversion of radiolabeled tirucallol and euphol into the limonoid nimbolide in the leaves of the neem tree (55).
