Quantification of the Nucleation Efficiency

We now consider the case where an nucleating agent (NA) is added to the polymer of interest. The sample should be treated as the parent polymer without the additive and after erasing its thermal history, a cooling scan from the melt should reveal its peak crystallization temperature, which is labeled Then Equation 5.6 will yield the nucleation efficiency (NE) in percentage [34]  

This equation represents a simple way to quantify the nucleating action of an additive in relative terms to its self-nucleation behavior.
