Qualitative report

Analytical biochemistry involves the use of laboratory methods to determine the composition of biological samples and it has applications in many widely differing areas of biological science. The information gained from an analysis is usually presented as a laboratory report, which may simply say what substances are present (a qualitative report) or may specify the precise amount of a substance in the sample (a quantitative report). 

The a /3 ratio is also strongly dependent on the heteroatom. Data for a homogeneous comparison under strictly equivalent experimental conditions are not available. The existing data (Table XI) and other qualitative reports seem to confirm the general validity of the following order for the a-directing power furan > thiophene seleno-phene > pyrrole. 

Several more qualitative reports mentioning the use of curious initiators are to be found scattered in the literature, but often the supposedly cationic mechanism involved in these polymerisation is not clearly established. 

Only a qualitative report on the UV spectrum of tellurophene is available.14 The spectrum (in n-hexane) exhibits three bands at 209, 241,... 

In this study our objectives were (1) to confirm that bromide oxidation is the major pathway for OH reaction, (2) to validate our method for generating the radical Br2 in seawater, and (3) to use this method to study the fate of the oxidized bromine species in seawater, emphasizing processes that would dominate under low intensity light (nonflash conditions). Quantification is the last—but most critical—step in validating the business case for learning. Producing quantitative and qualitative reports and other high-level output can help prioritize training investments based on real, tangible data showing job impact.

The results are imported into the laboratory information management system (LIMS) as a text file. The LIMS system is programmed with the cutoff values (Table 2) for each drug and LIMS converts the quantitative results to qualitative reports (positive/negative) (see Note 5). The quantitative data is stored in LIMS for future reference.
