Typical mass spectra fragments from saccharides are likely to have the following structures  [Pg.60]

These fragments have good resemblance with compounds detected in pyrolysis of sugars (see Sections 7.1 and 7.2) such as  [Pg.60]

Numerous structures can be proposed for the ion with m/z =97, which also have correspondents in the pyrolysates  [Pg.60]
