Pyrazolo thiazol-3 -ones

The reaction of 4-bromo-l,3-diphenyl-5-pyrazolone with A -aryl-thioureas and cyclization of the resulting products can give rise to two types of pyrazolo-[3,4-f/]thiazoles, (55) or (56 R = NHAr), respectively. With potassium thiocyanate the bromo-pyrazolone gives the thiocyanate, which cyclizes in hydrochloric acid to give the pyrazolo[3,4-thiazole ring system is also formed by the reaction of acid hydrazides with 4-imino-thiazolidin-2-ones. ...
