Pusher centrifuges

Pusher centrifuges require high feed concentrations to enable the formation of a sufficiently rigid cake to transmit the thrust of the piston. The diameters vary from 150 to 1400 mm, the stroke frequency from 20 to 100 strokes per minute and the solids-handling capacities up to 40 tons per hour or more. [Pg.440]

Description Suspension crystallization of paraxylene (PX) in the xylene isomer mixture is used to produce paraxylene crystals. The technology uses an optimized arrangement of equipment to obtain the required recovery and product purity. Washing the paraxylene crystal with the final product in a high efficiency pusher-centrifuge system produces the paraxylene product. [Pg.137]

Pusher centrifuges are continuously operating filter centrifuges. All steps occur simultaneously in different areas in the centrifuge as solids progress to the discharge end. [Pg.2072]
