Many products of mechanically operating die presses are one-level compacts that can be pressed with single punches (see Figure 187). Such punches may have different contours and in many applications (e.g. the pharmaceutical industry) are engraved (Figure 200). 

The design and execution of engravings on punches require considerable knowhow and skill. While most capping problems, i.e. the separation of a thin layer of the tablet from the main body of the compact during or after unloading and...

Subsequently, finer decorations would be obtained by molding (see Figure 2.4) or stamping on finely engraved molds or carved punches.
