Puddle Edges

What is the justification for this particular pressure distribution Note that the pressure is equal to po in the flat portion of the puddle, immediately below the liquid surface (2 = e), and increases by pge as the altitude dips below the surface down to the solid substrate (2 = 0).

Simultaneous coatings can also be made with one flexible blade against a roU, where the web moves downward and suppHes the coating fluid with puddles and edge dams between the web and the blade and between the web and the roU. The roU may rotate faster than the web. Figure 5 shows a version where the fluid on the roU side is suppHed by a transfer roU.

Prepare as many picrate papers as you need. Soak the papers in a puddle of sodium picrate in the Petri dish. Lift the papers so that they are arranged in a circle round the edge of the dish. 

Remove any sharp stones, roots, or debris. Line the base with a layer of sand or matting, then lay down the liner, leaving extra around the sides so that the edges can be buried under turf or other edging such as stone slabs or pebbles. Use a good-quality strong rubber or plastic liner that won t tear (buy the liner from a pond supplier). Alternatively, line the base with puddled clay. 

In PA, the slurry stream forms a small puddle on the pad under the application point and is carried by platen rotation until it encounters the wafer carrier. At the leading edge of the carrier, the slurry creates a bow wave that may be as much as several millimeters high. Some of the slurry in the bow wave is advected under the carrier and...

These types of experiments can all be conducted in an unglamorous kitchen, with nothing more than a puddle of oil sitting on the surface of water and a few bobby pins to pull on the edges.
