Pteroic acid, structure

Folic acid is a conjugated molecule consisting of a pteridine ring structure linked to para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) that forms pteroic acid. [Pg.250]

In the structure of the vitamin folic acid, 6-methylpterin is linked through the amino group of p-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) to form pteroic acid, which is linked in turn via an amide to glutamate, to form pteroylmonoglutamate. [Pg.2189]
