Pseudo tensile property

Table 4.2 summarizes the tensile properties of PMMA and the six pseudo-SIPNs. The Young s modulus of PMMA is increased by 50-100% upon the incorporation of FPEOF, whereas the tensile strength, ultimate strain and toughness are decreased slightly. There also appears to be an optimum FPEOF content in the pseudo-SIPN, above which the tensile properties start to decrease. 

The effects of aging on the dynamic and tensile properties of EPEOE/PLLA pseudo-SIPNs have been studied by Inoue and coworkers [46, 47]. The dynamic behavior of FPEOF/PLLA pseudo-SIPNs differs from that of FPEOF/PMMA pseudo-SIPNs. For FPEOF/PLLA pseudo-SIPNs, the storage modulus of PLLA decreases upon the addition of FPEOF. In contrast, the storage modulus of PMMA increases upon the addition of FPEOF, as mentioned earUer.

Sreekumar et al. (2008) have reported the effect of fiber content in polyester composites and have reported 40% volume fraction to show maximum tensile strength. Sapuan et al.
